This gem is located in the financial district, away from the bustling streets, in the NYPD's first official building. I moved to the area recently. I walked into the Downtown Info Center to learn more about the financial district and found an NYPD Museum flyer. The museum is packed with police items ranging from police cars to medals to old uniforms. Every room features a different aspect of our Police department. My favorite was a wall of old mugshots with the details on the back. Hundreds of mugshots where sandwiched between plexi-glass for the visitors to see the front and back.
I recommend this museum for all those who are interested in the history of New York City, the city we thrive in.
